Walsall Arts into PSHE programme gets National profile!
Walsall Teenage Pregnancy funded SRE (Sex and Relationship Education) resources have been recently showcased in Westminster as part of a policy and practice briefing to ensure high quality SRE and PSHE provision.
Earlier this month the Commissioning Manager for Walsall Children and Young People and Maternity Services (NHS) and Walsall’s Healthy Schools Manager (Children’s Services SERCO) showcased some of Walsall’s sex and relationship education resources that have been produced through Walsall Council’s Arts into PSHE (Personal Social and Health Education) Programme. Projects such as ‘Help I’m Hairy’, ‘Sexpert’ and ‘Tell me More’ have used creative and arts based processes to involve children and young people from local schools in film and media based projects which have resulted in the production of educational DVD’s to be used to support PSHE and SRE delivery in schools. All projects have been delivered in partnership with Walsall Council Creative Development team, NHS Walsall, Childrens’ Services SERCO and arts organisation Catcher Media.
