    Catch Me Before I Fall

    ‘Catch Me Before I Fall’ – sometimes known as ‘The Great Project’ – was developed by Walsall Council Creative Development Team to encourage people with a learning disability to become regular users of existing leisure services in Walsall.

    ‘Catch Me Before I Fall’ was financed by a Communities For Health (Public Health) fund and the Creative Development Team worked in partnership with Walsall Learning Disability Partnership Board and third sector organisation Mencap to deliver the project.

    NHS Walsall identified the need to develop a Children’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing strategy for Walsall to ensure partners and stakeholders have clarity over their roles, responsibilities and pathways to appropriate support and care for young people.  The involvement of young people in this process was deemed essential to ensure that the strategy was developed in an informed way.

    ‘FIT FOOD’ is a child friendly, interactive DVD resource with supporting teacher’s lesson plans and guidelines and children’s activity book which has been developed to support the Key Stage 2 PSHE curriculum. The DVD resource includes film, animation, drama, music, interviews, research and humour to explore topic areas around healthy eating, nutrition and physical activity.
